Vospers was founded over 90 years ago, in 1933, and has been at our current location in 257 Devon Street East in New Plymouth, Taranaki, since 1954.

Our funeral home premises are purpose built, and we have continually upgraded our spaces to provide our community with modern and comfortable facilities.

Vospers chapel

The Vospers chapel is a space designed to honour and celebrate every life journey. It can comfortably seat ten to 100 people – and we have access to nearby venues for larger gatherings.

Vospers ensures every farewell is tailored to accommodate your needs and preferences, and the chapel is the perfect space for this.

It features state-of-the art audio-visual capabilities, including on-site livestreaming and recording facilities. This allows every cherished moment to be captured for those unable to attend in person.

PowerPoint and DVD photo presentations are another wonderful way to personalise the funeral service and to celebrate the life of your loved one.

We also provide the use of an organ/piano to accompany the funeral service.

Reception lounge & catering

Adjacent to the Vospers chapel lies our reception lounge, for a seamless transition from ceremony to commemoration. This inviting space offers solace and support for guests to connect and share memories.

There’s also a small outside space flowing on from the reception lounge, for moments of quiet reflection.

Vospers collaborates with a variety of caterers, allowing families to select the option that best suits their preferences. Alternatively, families have the choice to provide their own catering if desired.
