CLEMENT, Merle (nee Symes):
Peacefully at Taranaki Base Hospital after a short illness on Sunday 14 June 2026, in her 89th year. Loved soulmate and best friend of Roy for 72 years. Loving and caring Mum of Jillian & Russell Millar, Andrew & Viv, and Dean and Robyn. Cherished Grandma of Paul, Cindy, Jimmy; Stephanie, Ashleigh, Jason, Jeffery, and Nathan. Adored Great-Grandma of Tyler, Amelia, Ellajae, Indie, Maddie, and Zoe. Loved friend of Jocelyn, and Leonie. A special thanks to the team at Taranaki Base Hospital especially Bailey Mullin for your care of Merle.

A memorial service to celebrate Merle’s life will be held at St Paul’s Co-Operating Church, 31 Havelock St, Opunake on Monday 22 June 2026 at 1 pm.
In accordance with Merle’s wishes a private cremation has been held.
